Bible study: The Power of Hope    Jeremiah 29: 11

What is Hope- Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen, if we look at Faith, it is a confident or trust in a person or thing or a belief not BASED ON PROOF but Hope is an optimistic attitude of mind based on an expectation or desire. Faith says IT IS NOW while Hope says in the FUTURE IT COULD HAPPEN.

As children of God, we should always exercise the power of Hope that no matter what we are going through, we will always wait on God who will turn things around.  Psalm 25:1, 27:14, 40:1, 130:5. Beloved, there is no doubt that it takes the living to hope as they that descend to the grave have no hope. Isaiah 38:18-19. Let consider some blessing of hope.

Blessing of hope

  • We are saved by the power of Hope- as hope that is not hope. Or why does a man need to hope for what he can see? But we hope for what we do not see. Rom 8:24-25
  • Our hope is laid in heaven for us. Colossians 1:5
  • The power of hope gives us courage. Our tribulations worked patience, patience-experience and experience-hope. That no matter what we pass through or how situations May is presenting herself to, we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Romans 5:5.

Let’s look at some cases in the Bible, where the case(s) was hopeless or peculiar.

-In Mark 5:25-34, Talks about the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years, her case look hopeless because the bible says she has spent all her had but instead of getting better she grew worse

-In the book of Mark 5:1-19, there was the story of a man that was demonized with legions of demons. In fact, many have given up on him that all hope regarding the man is lost.

– In the same Mark 5:35-45. There we read of the story of Jarius’s daughter. Who Jesus changed their mourning to joy.

Beloved let us always consider these Bible passages that we should meditate on each time we feel down. Revelation 21:4, Psalms 43:5, Matthew 11:28, Corinthian 12:9, Psalms 34:4-5, Isaiah 40:31 and Roman 12:12

In conclusion

Hope is powerful if you’ve been hopeless and you know you’ve been looking only at natural circumstances and negative things in your life. I pray that God will help you to change your focus and start seeing the positive things he can do for you.
